The Great Gatsby Notes #9

- Nick couldn't get anyone to come to Gatsby's funeral

- Gatsby's dad came all the way from Minnesota

- Only a few people came to Gatsby's funeral

- Nick decided to move back to the Midwest

- Nick breaks off his relationship with Jordan

- Before Nick leaves, he saw Tom

- Tom and Daisy, knowing that their money will shield them, are careless and uncaring people

- The American Dream was dead

The Great Gatsby Notes #8

- Daisy was Gatsby's first love

- Daisy promised to wait for Gatsby but she settled in with Tom who had a good social status and approved by her parents.

- Nick became distracted at work and even refused to go on a date with Jordan.

- Tom told Wilson who owned the yellow car that had hit Myrtle.

- Wilson shoots Gatsby killing him instantly

- Wilson then kills himself

- Nick finds Gatsby floating in his pool, dead.

The Great Gatsby Notes #7

- Gatsby became preoccupied with Daisy and started calling off his parties, which was meant to lure Daisy.

- Gatsby fired all his staff to prevent gossip

- Nick went to Daisy's house for lunch along with Gatsby and Jordan.

- Gatsby was stunned when he saw Daisy's baby girl.

- Daisy seemed uninterested in her daughter and became bored suggesting Gatsby to go into the city with her

- Daisy and Gatsby couldn't hide their love for each other and Tom suspicion was confirmed.

- They all went to New York together

- They stopped at Wilson's garage for gas and they learned that he discovered that his wife's affair but not the identity of the man. He plans to move her to the West.

- Gatsby and Tom had an argument over Daisy

- Myrtle was hit by a car which was driven by Daisy

- It was also Nick's birthday

The Great Gatsby Notes #6

- Gatsby's real name is James Gatz, born in a farm in North Dakota.

- Dan Cody, a rich man and was Gatsby's best friend

- Gatsby was Dan Cody's personal assistant and made Gatsby fall in love with wealth.

- Dan Cody left Gatsby $25,000 when he died, but his wife prevented Gatsby from claiming it.

- Tom and Daisy went to one of Gatsby's party and claimed that he gained his wealth through "bootlegging"

- Tom became suspicious of what Daisy has been doing after her constant visit to Gatsby's Mansion,   but not yet discovered Daisy's affair

- Gatsby noticed that Daisy was unhappy with Tom.

- Gatsby wanted Daisy to leave Tom so she could be with him.

The Great Gatsby Notes #5

- Nick agrees to help Gatsby

- Nick invited Daisy to tea without knowing that Gatsby would be there

- Gatsby showed his true self, becoming awkward and losing his elaborated speech

- Gatsby's reunion with Daisy was very awkward so Nick tried to leave them alone for a half an hour.

- When Nick returned, he found them radiantly happy with "Daisy shedding tears of joy and Gatsby Glowing"

The Great Gatsby Notes #4

- Meyer Wolfshiem, a shady character with underground business connections.

- Gatsby tells Nick his life story, which Nick found very skeptical.

- A policeman pulled Gatsby over but was let go after Gatsby showed him a white card. The police even apologized.

- Turns out that Gatsby is in love with Daisy.

- According to Jordan, Gatsby had asked her to convince Nick to arrange a reunion between him and Daisy.

- Nick kisses Jordan

The Great Gatsby Notes #3

- Nick was invited to one of Gatsby's fancy parties.

- Nick heard many rumors of their mysterious host, such as Gatsby, being a German spy and him killing a man in cold blood.

- Gatsby has a very elaborated speech and has a habit of calling everyone "old sport."

- "You've dyed your hair since then" being noticed for keeping great maintenance to your body was an insult back then.

- Nick describes Jordan as a very dishonest person. He knows that she cheated on her first tournament, but admits that he is attracted to her.

- Nick also notes that he is one of the few honest people he has ever known.

The Great Gatsby Notes #2

Tom takes Nick to meet his secret affair. They take Myrtle and went to their second house. There they partied along with Myrtle's sister and other people. Most of them drank a lot which associates with unhappiness. The chapter ends with Tom punching Myrtle in the face, breaking her nose.

Tom is described as a bully, arrogant, and a dishonest man.

Myrtle Wilson: Tom's lover. Described as a lively woman.

George Wilson: Myrtle's husband. A Lifeless man.

Characters:

Nick Carraway -The narrator. A Yale graduate and a veteran soldier from a wealth family. He was raised to reserve judgement from other people.

Daisy Buchanan - Nick's distant cousin. She is always looking forward for something only to disregard it later on.

Tom Buchanan - A former member of Nick's social club at Yale and Daisy's husband. He has a love affair with another woman in New York.

Jordan Baker - A professional golf athlete. She constantly yawns as if everything around her bores her.

Gatsby - ???
